Born and raised in Hong Kong, Simon received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1991 and is a member of the State Bar of California since 1992.  Simon is licensed to practice law in California, U.S. and in Hong Kong, S.A.R.  Simon is a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) of the United Kingdom.

From 2002 to 2007, Simon served as Senior Vice President of Bank of America International Private Bank in the Wealth Management Consulting/Wealth Strategy group, responsible for the development and delivery of strategic and tactical solutions for high net worth individuals and families in the areas of international estate and tax planning, international trusts and companies structuring, and integration of international and domestic financial planning products. 

From 2007 to 2008, Simon was Senior Vice President of Banco Santander International, serving as the bank’s Wealth Planning Advisor to the Asian Region.

Prior to Simon’s association with the private banking industry, Simon was previously partner of the estate planning group of King & Wood, LLP, and an attorney at Hsu & Shen, LLP (formerly known as American Trust Institute).

Simon has been asked to speak at numerous private and industry seminars as well as training sessions for financial advisors, insurance agents and other estate planning professionals in the U.S., Canada and Asia.  Simon is a lecturer of the IFPC (Insurance Financial Planner China) since their inception.

Simon is a Member of the State Bar of California, Member of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and Member of the Department of Planned Gifting of Stanford University. 

Simon is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
